Story
Hello! Namaste!
Guess what? I am so excited! I am heading on an adventure to Gujarat, India in December 2014, to be part of The Anganwadi Project (TAP)! TAP sends Australian architects to help design and build preschool buildings for local children in the under-privileged neighbourhoods of Ahmedabad in Western India. Architecture + Community Development - Hooray!
I am incredibly excited about heading to India and following my dreams of helping the other 99% to have adequate spaces to dwell and gain an education. I have decided to create a fundraising appeal to help cover the building materials and labour involved in the project. I am covering all my own travel and living expenses, so all donations will be directly purchasing bricks, mortar and man + woman power on the ground.
Through this page you can easily support my efforts by making a secure donation. I would also really appreciate it if you could share this page above or comment below so more people know about it. I am more than happy to call, email, Facebook or meet any of your friends or family who are interested in donating and would like to know more about the project.
In India:
- $10.00/$20.00 buys a small load of bricks
- $50.00 buys a ceiling fan, paint for the walls and murals or the tiles for a re-cycled tile floor
- $100.00 buys connection to water supply and a tap
- $500.00 buys a new toilet
- $1000 buys a new roof
- $5000- $6000 buys a whole new school!

Dear TAP Supporters,
The Anganwadi Project is looking for your support to continue building pre-schools in disadvantaged areas of India.
TAP designs and builds anganwadi (preschools) within the informal settlements of Ahmedabad, Gujarat and rural areas of Andhra Pradesh alongside our local partners and communities.
These small buildings make an enormous difference by giving young children the best possible start in life through a beautiful, well-designed and built, safe space to receive an education and good nutrition.
The Anganwadi Project relies solely on the generosity of donations from our supporters and sponsors. Please help us continue our work by making a donation to the project. All donations are tax deductible in Australia.
